Photography has followed me for most of my life. I started with my mother’s Nikon F and learned to pay attention to light, timing and the small details that make an ordinary scene worth keeping.
The camera is an excuse to look longer
I’m drawn to landscapes, weather, coastlines, night skies and moments where the light changes the character of a familiar place. The technical part matters — exposure, optics, processing — but it is in service of noticing something before it disappears.
Sunsets
Light at the edge of the day, when color and atmosphere can turn a landscape into something briefly unfamiliar.
Beaches
Coastlines, water, weather and the geometry created where land and ocean keep rearranging one another.

A rare geomagnetic display photographed from Southern California — the sort of event that makes staying out with a camera worthwhile.
This part of the site is less about building technology and more about the reason I like building things in the first place: curiosity, observation and the pleasure of understanding how something works well enough to capture it.
