This project took significantly longer to develop than expected, but I’m proud to share my thoughts and process in developing this applet. The code evolved into a two-part tool that can be run from the command line or as a daemon.

The code collects system information, reports it back to an API, and stores the information in a database. The applet is designed to run as a daemon in the background, and to collect system information and report it back to an API. The system information is then stored in a database.

The code is written in Python, and uses the Python logging module to log events and errors. The code also uses the Python argparse module to parse command-line arguments. The applet can be run from the command line or as a daemon.
